MERRY CHRISTMAS TO BONNIE!
Our final rescue of 2009 is complete. Six adorable pups made their way to Second Chance Sato Rescue and are cute as a button. 5 other pups came up into Boston too, and Brad who along with his wife adopted from us, volunteered to transport them from Boston to Vermont to Random Rescue. On the way to the airport, a stop was made at Pep Boys in Nashua to purchase a gift certificate for Bonnie at SCAR in Puerto Rico. The van is in dire need of new tires and other mechanical repairs. The request for donations from our volunteers and adoptive families allowed me to put a gift card in the mail for $750. All of which was made by donations specifically for this gift. Not one dollar came from the rescues account. Such a nice surprise! Bonnie will be thrilled to know our precious cargo and the SCAR volunteers aren't traveling the roads in a van with bald tires. Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!

since we lost our cargo flight connection last year it's been near to impossible to get many dogs off the island...........
we're looking for passengers on American Airlines out of San Juan, destination either Hartford, Con. or Boston, Mass.........
it doesn't cost you anything, the rescue shelter pays for the crate but needs a flyer to 'attach' the cargo to..........we need 10-14 days notice for medicating
.......you have no idea how important your help is, by forwarding this email to friends or being one of the 'flyers'.....the shelter is extremely crowded and we're desperate to ship out dogs.....many of these have families waiting but we're unable to ship them......the cost of just one crate without a flyer is in the hundreds.....!!!
please.....take time to forward this message or to let us know if you're making a trip to one of these two destinations......you'll be glad you did....Deb

WHAT DO YOU CALL A VOLUNTEER WHO SHOWS UP CONSISTENTLY READY TO DO WHATEVER ASKED OF THEM.......A HERO
Ray is fixing the chainsaw getting ready to do yet another job that would be an impossible task to get done around the shelter. Ray has picked up where others have left off and managed to show up almost daily to help Bonnie. Cement work, carpentry, helping with the dogs, no task seems to daunt him.....he even feeds the little bird that was rescued from blowfly larvae...thanks Ray !
